This is a kickass post, Eric. Just read through it this morning. I’ve been off this site for a while – I get super busy and time slips away – but just had a 2nd rebuild on my engine, though this one was more of an overhaul. My internal sound turned out to valve guides – it sounds like a sewing machine now. I’ll post some pictures soon. Gotta have the red turbo, Jim just did mine and it’s terrific. I run a boost gauge and I think I get about 6-7 pounds of boost, but as the gauge isn’t digital, it’s a little hard to tell. I’d be really interested to talk with you more in depth. Are you coming the Gettysburg nationals? We’ll be there. By the way, my son gets Hot Rod and we saw their feature on your car. We were psyched for you. You’re right about these engines, people swarm around them and it’s fun to see them do a double take on the turbo.
