This manual transmission inspection cover I cleaned real easy to see what if any paint was on it. There was zero paint of any kind and not even under the bolt heads. It appears to be bare steal but it is not rusted. With being from Chicago I would think it would have been rusted if it was bare steal from the factory. Does anyone know what the original coating would be for this cover? I feel sure it was not painted because there is zero evidence of it.
