I have checked everything and can’t figure out why my starter is jamming on the flywheel. I have 2 starters and they both do it. New Bendix drive didn’t matter. Ring gear looks good. It’s like the starter is too close to the flywheel. I have tried shims to change the angle and depths but still no change. I ground out the starter head to be able to move it around and still jams. I even ground the teeth down on an old pinion gear. What’s up with this? Can’t start my new motor until this is resolved.
