As I recall, the original muffler had a small angle bracket spot welded to the sheet metal on the left end. One day the weight of the muffler caused the bracket to rip a hole in the end metal; the rest of the muffler might have lasted a while. On the replacement muffler, I welded an extra brace from the bracket to the much stronger end seam; that never happened again. Bruce Roe
