I had trouble finding 13 inch tires for my four Jetfire cars. Wanted to stay with 13″ and desired radial format with white side wall styles in either 1″ or 0.65″ WSW width. The radial equivalent WSW tires are non existing in new manufacture today! The 1962 Jetfires came with 700×13 bias ply tires from the factory as standard issue. Trying to duplicate this size I found I had to compromise. In trying to understand the tire size conversions to more modern “P” radials was confusing to me. I needed a chart to better understand the differences so I put together a chart for these little rascals. It probably is not perfect but I thought I would share it with the website for anyone else trying to understand the new VS old tire sizes.

I used a similar chart when I got tires for my Cutlass. Sizes were confusing to me too when trying to compare old school numbering to modern numbering. Ended up getting B.F. Goodrich Silvertown bias ply WSW repros from Coker Tire for my stock steel wheels so it looks more original when I show the car. For general driving I have a set of aftermarket wheels with black sidewall B.F. Goodrich T/A radials.
