I just found this difference between my two 62 jetfires. This is the cross member for both cars. I am wondering if this is a mid year change or a 4 speed verses automatic thing? Has anyone seen this before?

The rusty one is our 4 speed car built 4th week of June and the nicer looking one is our automatic car built 5th week of May.

my wagon and my old coupe, both autos had the style like bottom picture. my 3 speed manual car had one similar to the bottom how it mounted to the frame but no rubber. never seen one like the top or ever had a 4 speed one.

    Hi Eric,
There were at least 3 different styles of cross members to hold the trans back to the frame. Early and late manual and auto.

Any problems using the hydro cross-member in the 4-speed conversion?

Luck is at the intersection of planning and opportunity.
