I’m doing a rebuild of the front end on my current ’62 Jetfire project with power steering and am searching for the correct tie rod ends. I’ve done front end rebuilds before and always thought that the tie rod ends were the same for cars with manual steering and those with power steering. But, my parts book shows a different part number for a car with power steering (Group 6.233, Part No. 5675855), than those with manual steering (5674340). Anyone have any experience with this? I’ve always used the 5674340 tie rod ends and haven’t noticed any issues. Has anyone seen or used the 5675855 tie rod ends that can explain a difference to me? Thanks for your help.

    Bruce,
I don’t know of any difference, but I ordered the parts from Kanter back when I rebuilt mine and they’ve worked perfectly ever since (I have power steering.
