We are taking the jetfire. I entered it in the show but it is far from the condition you would expect to find at a show. We are going to get there Tuesday evening and be there till Saturday morning.
We are also planning to get there Tuesday evening, however no car. Looking forward to meeting you. We will be leaving Friday morning, headed for Colorado.
I’m bringing my ’63 Cutlass. I hope the weather is good. No rain and no excessive heat! Hope to see a few ’61 to ’63 guys at the show and a boat load of other Oldsmobiles as well.
I had a great time at the Nationals as well. It was nice to meet Eric, John and their wives. I found it amazing that at an Oldsmobile national event that there are so many people who don’t know about the ’61 – ’63 215 aluminum V8 or the turbocharged Jetfires. Hopefully by binging our cars more people became aware of them and will share with others.
When we first got there I had a guy ask what it was. After I told him it was an all aluminum engine he thought I was full of it. After i raised the hood he couldn’t believe it. Not many aluminum engine parts in 61. Olds and Buick were way ahead of there time.
I was a little disappointed in the ’61-’63 turnout but Eric & I were there to represent our segment. There was a ’62 Cutlass parked just outside the show filed. Here are a couple of pics.
