I will have to take another picture of the cowl tag. I can’t find the one I took. It is 10A and number 653 from Lansing on Jim’s list. Has X-T-2M on the ACC line.
I have a waiting list for these rear ends and you are first on that list. It is going to be a while before I am ready to start parting it out. I told my wife it may be this Fall but it…[Read more]

This is the Jetfire that was on eBay a while back. I finely got it at a good price. The body is trashed but has some great parts

I used the Melling K-20H for the gear and spring kit, and a Sealed Power 224-518TP for the trust plate kit. Check the trust surface of your pump to see it it is worn.

Sorry this is so long.
Put a std pump in my eng. D&D recommended a high volume pump, my eng builder and TA Performance recommended against it. Reason being don’t need it. The oil pump drive from the dist is a weak point and the high volume pump puts more stress on it. That being said I wish I had more hot oil idle pressure, while off idle no c…[Read more] -

What kit did you buy?

I never change the oiling. Just new gears and trust plate

What do you guys think about the high volume oil pump kits for these 215 engines? Mark at D&D talked me into installing one on my wife’s Jetfire because he said it is good for the turbo motor even though it is stock. I have taken the turbo and the heads off the engine to my Jetfire with 44,000 miles and there is hardly any were in this engine at…[Read more]

We discovered a hole in the driver’s side fender where the horn was mounted rather poorly: vibration broke a chunk right out of the fender. Another Jetfire owner mentioned they had this trouble too. Relocation of the horns due to the TRF tank apparently was not thought out well. We used the chunk that broke out that was still attached to the h…[Read more]

Now I wonder if it was a part year change or if it is Jetfire and Convertible only? I don’t know why I obsess over little trivial things like this… I guess I just find it fascinating just how much they were changing these cars all along the three years. I will post the question on the 61-63 page on Facebook. There are lots of Cutlass and…[Read more]

I just pulled enough of my 63 Cutlass and Jetfire and both of those were plastic. So looks like maybe all 63 were plastic for this super small sample…. Not that this is a big deal but still interesting finding these differences no matter what the reason. I guess I need to find more 62 cars of both style and see if one is mixed from what is found so far.

My ’63 Cutlass has plastic plugs. Luckily in great shape so I cleaned them up and reused them.
