Just an update, I found my broken bolts and also found one like it. I just need to find another one. The one I have I do not have any idea where it come from. It was in my 70-72 bucket of bolts. I may have to resort to a different bolt till I find one. It is going to be a good while before I need it anyway.

Yes, It’s quite a project doing a 4 speed conversion. So many hard to find parts. I have most everything I need but when it comes time, if I have to put the automatic back in because i’m missing a couple parts,, so be it.

I can’t help you with the bolt style. However I am reminded that i need one of the end pieces like you have in your hand. I have the cross member but there was only end piece with it.

I need to know what the proper bolt and head marking is for this location. It is the end piece to the 4 speed crossmember. The bolt that bolts them together and not the ones going into the body. Mine were so bad that they broke and somehow I lost them. I don’t know what the proper bolt is now. Also wonder if it is fine thread or not and if you can…[Read more]

Hi Kelly,
You use a 4 wire holder on the passenger side and a three wire holder on the driver side. Further back on the valve covers use rubber grommets. You will need to cut open the grommets to put around the plug wire. (I misspelled Grommet on the pic text-LOL) -

Does anyone have or know of a source for one of the rubber ignition wire holders that holds all 4 wires and slides into the metal holders on the valve covers? I need just one of them. Thanks!

I couldn’t remember where all I heard it but I know one time was at Homecoming last summer. This is something I wanted to look into for a long time but was never in a position to be able to. With my car home and apart and the 61 still here (I am about to scrap the 61) then I figured I had better do it now.

Well, I stand corrected. I based that on another member using 61 mounts and not being able to get them fully home in the Upper unibody Frame member. Had some pics and everything.
If that’s the case I sold some NOS 61s I could have used, although mine are in decent shape it would have been nice to have some unused ones in there that the car h…[Read more]

This was a subject in the past that there is some bad information about. If someone has more or better information please post it. Someone in the past has said that 61 bushings will not work correct in 62 and 63 but I am finding that you can. I have a set of 61 NOS bushings, a used 61 crossbar and a 61 car to compare things to. I just pulled the…[Read more]

Found another inspection mark on a 3.36 rear end. Yellow just under the fill plug. I wonder if it is to confirm that the fill plug was tightened?

The body guy matched the original over spray amount really well. I have seen some cars with more than this and some with less. This car you could hardly tell just how much was there but there were some places that still give clues. The body guy thought I was crazy to want the over spray. He likes hard lines.
