Ouch. That hurts to see – standing on the hood.

Don’t worry in the late 70’s my mother bought a 62 Jetfire without the turbo on it. So I was restoring the rusted out convertible at the time and figured it would be a good idea to strip the Jetfire of its neat interior and hood for my convertible and scrap the rest of it. After all if the top goes down the price goes up, right? Well that didn’t…[Read more]

My top guy told me to not unzip/zip window while top is fully up. Open it slightly to perform the function.

Saw that awhile ago, thought the same thing. Nice to get a little recognition though.

When trying to confirm accuracy in older vehicles, check out oldcarbrochures.com, a subsidiary of the old car manual project site. Every brochure (almost) that you could ever want to see, about almost any make of car. A great resource. Also a great time waster…. careful!

Yes. 1962 was the first year for a convertible in the F-85 line up. There were 3,660 F-85 and 9,898 Cutlass convertibles produced in 1962. As you thought, from your description, your car is an F-85. If you look at the firewall/cowl I.D. tag an F-85 is model 62-3067 and the Cutlass is 62-3167. All F-85 models were 62-30XX and Cutlass was 62-31XX.

In 62, a Cutlass had to have buckets and a 4 bbl carburetor. It does sound like your car was an f-85 with the Cutlass emblems added.

I have a 1962 Cutlass convertible and the only thing that makes my car a Cutlass is the two front finder badges. Everything else suggest it is a basic f-85. It has a bench seat, ugly plan steering wheel, a f-85 badge on the dash, column sifter, huge tall air cleaner, a plan hood ( no spear), it also has separate letters spelling oldsmobile across…[Read more]

Hello, just search Allegra Allergy 24-Hour Commercial on youtube. I would not let anyone stand on my hood.

I have been having a tough time finding the right orange. The GF-61 NOS filters are printed in red but these are and orange. Being I can not go to my local hobby store to try colors I will likely take a chance on the internet. We used to have a car painted Competition Orange that looked Red beside an Orange car and looked Orange beside a Red…[Read more]

First time I have EVER found one of these NOS. Paid entirely to much for it but such a cool rare part. I am not sure if I can bring myself to put it on my car. I suppose after I have the car dialed in really well I will likely use it.

My zipper came apart on mine, so I know to never unzip a back window again. It’s not worth it.

Looks like they are missing the half moon pieces. Some of this is still nice to have but the half moon pieces I hear are the hardest part to find. The “top hat” style and spring are for 63 but I have a paper that says the early drive shaft can be drilled to this style. The 61-62 has the shallow spring like in this picture.

Just saw this on Ebay. (2) N.O.S. CV joint kits. These are fairly rare. You’ll have to double check the parts numbers.

I tried getting some paint over a year ago with the code for Royal Mist and was not close at all. My body guy tried it when he first started working on it and found the same thing I did. Took him a long time to get it right. Yours looks great!

I have long wondered why Oldsmobile put the seam for the front inlet on the top side of the air cleaner. Well, I just found one that was flipped. After noticing this one was flipped I looked through pictures of others I have had and the one on the 63 barn car I had was on the bottom. Now I need to decide what one I want to use on my car. I am…[Read more]
