[quote quote=14997]this may be taboo, but merc has 4 lug discs for the comet…..Thoughts,[/quote]
Unclear how that helps. Different wheel bearings, for starters. Different spindles. The rotors are the easy part. I have Saab 900 rotors with the same 4 x 4.5″ bolt pattern for the front. They have plenty of offset from the wheel mounting surface to t…[Read more]

You are still good. Anybody wanting one before they come in will be $130. No need to pay till I have them. Looks like I should have the sample around September 1st.

The beltline weatherstrip and window fuzzies are still really nice on this car. I was able to get the driver side door apart and not hurt them. I sure hope I can do the same for all the others.

They sent me an email update and they are telling me I should have the sample by September first. A little farther out than I expected but at least they are keeping me posted.

I was able to pull the Shell oil change decal off without hurting the one under it. This one has been torn off some but was able to still get some more history information from it for what it is worth. The Shell oil change was 06-20-1970 with 42724 miles. The one under it is 23960 miles but the last digit of the date is gone. 04-27-6?. The one…[Read more]

Isn’t there a way to contact him through the website? Usually there’s a way to report problems by members of a forum.

Neither 62 cutlass conver has the collar with rubber. The 62 Jetfire has the collar with rubber.

A little more done. The driver side fender is junk but I pretty much already knew that. Also more rust in the headlight areas than expected but I have NOS parts for all that area. NOS driver side fender, headlight assemblies, parking light assemblies, valance, front side fillers and even the little metal pieces between the inner fender and…[Read more]

The two that I have that are cutlass both have the rubber layer but this one does not. Did all f-85 and Cutlass have the rubber? Till now I thought everything in 62 had it. I would assume this to be the original but I can’t say that for sure. Only had 44,000 miles but I guess it could have had one brake maybe and got replaced. I would suspect they…[Read more]

Is it possible that the rear section (or even the complete length) of this drive shaft was replaced at some time? The parts book only shows one drive shaft for all 1962-63 4 speed Jetfires. Maybe the assembly line ran out of the Jetfire drive shafts that day and put in a Cutlass one to move the car down the line? The mysteries of production!

Please ignore the Ford in the picture…. I just picked these NOS heater tubes up. They are Jetfire only. As some know, I have parts slowly coming in from Hawaii. With how the deal works for me to get the parts, every now and then I have to pay what I feel is to much for some parts. These are one of these cases where I had to pay to much. Not sure…[Read more]
