I have one bottle cap with the original lettering, somewhat rusty too. It is hard to tell the color but it looks like white?
I have had several bottles without the lettering. Wonder if the only ones lettered were original to the cars and the dealer sold extras were just black? -

JimNoel replied to the topic Ignition Wire holder on valve cover needed in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 3 years, 11 months ago
Hi Kelly,
You use a 4 wire holder on the passenger side and a three wire holder on the driver side. Further back on the valve covers use rubber grommets. You will need to cut open the grommets to put around the plug wire. (I misspelled Grommet on the pic text-LOL) -

JimNoel replied to the topic Is there such a thing as a 62 F-85 convertible? in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 4 years ago
Yes. 1962 was the first year for a convertible in the F-85 line up. There were 3,660 F-85 and 9,898 Cutlass convertibles produced in 1962. As you thought, from your description, your car is an F-85. If you look at the firewall/cowl I.D. tag an F-85 is model 62-3067 and the Cutlass is 62-3167. All F-85 models were 62-30XX and Cutlass was 62-31XX.

Here is a pic of my air cleaner on my “original” ’62. I don’t think the factory assembly personnel payed too much attention to the label placement.

Hi Bruce,
Looks very nice! Looks like this will be the twin to your Cutlass 4-speed. Cool! Restoration plans for other ’62 in background? -
JimNoel replied to the topic Color matching carpet supplier in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 4 years ago
Door panels were NOT trimmed with carped lowers on convertibles. For the F-85 offerings (Cutlass and Jetfire) that did have carpeted lower door panels, they matched the floor carpets.

Looking good! Don’t forget the two Jetfire silver paint accents. Gas filler and top of front gravel shield. Looks like you will have the car back by spring!

Found a PF 7 with nut. Looks like the factory photo except color white in place of blue.

Some further research and help from members brings back three PF numbers to me. I think the first filter was the PF 7, then replaced by or an alternate of a PF 30, then ultimately a PF 24. A modern replacement that I have been using is Wix 51049.

JimNoel replied to the topic 62 vs 63 washer tanks in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 4 years, 2 months ago
Hi Eric,
I have thought that the tank you call a 1962 was molded with the side indention to accommodate the air conditioning coolant tube from the condenser? The 1963 A/C condenser tube must run through the core support in a different place or the washer tank would not fit. I have not looked close at a 1963 with two speed wiper/washer and A/C. -

I can’t fine the original AC Delco oil filter number for our 215 cid engines. I seam to remember it was a PF xx? Does some remember for sure?

Hi Sandy,
Not quite sure why that “wire to ground” (?) is attached to your sender mounting screw? Looks like a place to compromise the seal of the sender to the tank. Where does that wire go? Your tank is grounded by the six tank to inner fender bolts.

JimNoel replied to the topic Jetfire france in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 4 years, 2 months ago
Hi Pere,
Sad to report, like Eric said, the white Jetfire engine has heads from a 1962 two barrel carburetor, low compression, plain F-85 engine, not a Cutlass or Jetfire. I don’t believe the block is Jetfire either. Someone has put a Jetfire induction system on this engine to appear like a real Jetfire engine and intake system.
