    There were no factory built Jetfire convertibles. There have been a number of phantoms built over the years.

    As I said previously, I know from firsthand experience that 215/60-15s fit just fine on wheels with zero offset with the stock wheel mounting surface locations.

    So back to my original point. If the spindle and hub are changed, there’s no way to know what offset works without measuring the specific car with the specific disc brake conversion installed.

    How do you drill the stock hubs for five lugs? There are only four thickened areas on the backside for the studs.

    The spindle has nothing to do with where the wheel mounting surface on the new rotors ends up relative to where it was with the stock drums. That’s entirely a function of the design of the rotor.

    I can tell you from personal experience that 215/60-15s on wheels with zero offset fit just fine on stock brakes. I have no idea if or how much that conversion pushes the wheel mounting surfaces outboard.

    No one reproduces these. Good used from a desert car or hand-fabricated are your only options.

    Not a fan of belly button Chebby motors. The aesthetics are a matter of personal taste. I can appreciate the workmanship.

    I used a Helicoil in one of the head bolt holes on the first 215 I built decades ago. Timeserts didn’t exist then. No issues at all.
