Hi Eric,
I have a boost gauge that appears to work. The chrome piece is corroded, you would have to swap yours if it is in good shape.

johnsage replied to the topic Picked up a 4 speed jetfire in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 7 years ago
I bought one new in Oct. 1962 and it had the silver turbo. I have owned two others since that also had silver turbos. I have two now but I don’t know what came on them originally, although I have reason to believe one of them came with a red turbo.

I think it looks pretty good Eric. I’m going to try it on my door panel as well. My car will pretty much be a daily driver, local shows, so it probably will be fine.

The 62 color selector for the 62 Jetfire also calls out Medium Gray carpet for Trim 971. I think I still have the carpet I took out of one of my Jetfires. It was originally gray and turned brown just as yours did. If it would help I can send a piece of that carpet to you as well as a piece of the new gray carpet I bought from Pony Parts. Just…[Read more]

johnsage replied to the topic I'm looking for the owner of this car. It may be my first car as a teen in 1967 in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 7 years, 1 month ago
The car had the original red,or what I would call maroon, interior. I prefer the silver interior and if it had it I would found a way to keep the car. So it looks like it wasn’t your car. On the other hand, it did have what looked like a sprayed on vinyl looking black roof covering. As a matter of fact, one of the fake seams was loose on the left…[Read more]

I owned this car for a few years. A friend of mine in Junction City, Kansas bought the car at an estate auction in the late 80’s and a year or so later offered to sell it to me. It was a 4 speed car and at the time it had a 4 barrel carb on it. When we picked it up we drove on to the Omaha Nationals and I had it parked in the parking lot at the…[Read more]

I talked to Pony Parts Plus and finally ordered a molded carpet from them for my 62 Jetfire. It was actually listed for a 62 2 door sedan but was told it would fit. For $160. I took a chance. I haven’t installed it yet but laid it in roughly and it looks like it will fit. I bought extra material in case I decide to install my 4 speed. I haven’t…[Read more]

johnsage replied to the topic looking for a few parts. and a question in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 7 years, 11 months ago
For a carpet kit you might try Pony Parts Plus, 1 800 242 2314, They make kits for 4 door sedans, don’t know if they fit a wagon. I bought a molded kit for my jetfire, haven’t installed it yet but laid it in and seems to fit pretty well.

Bruce, If you still need a transfer tube I’m pretty sure I have one on my parts car. I’ll check as soon as the snowstorm we have at this moment finally ends.

I’ve wondered if the 63 carpet set might fit the 62. Probably not much difference. Maybe someone on here might have the answer.

I called these people a couple days ago and was told that they didn’t make the carpet sets for the 62. Did you have to get past the first answer to get your information.

I might be able to do the same thing if I don’t find a new carpet. I’ll have to look at mine closer. It has aged to a light shade of brown if I remember right. Otherwise I think it’s in good shape. I didn’t realize it was reasonably easy to re-die it. It might be an option.

johnsage replied to the topic I need an original upper radiator hose in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 10 years, 4 months ago
Hi Eric,
Just saw Jim’s post. According to my parts catalog part # 587981 is the lower radiator hose for the 1963 F85. As far as I can tell that includes the 1963 Jetfire.
The part # for the 1962 Jetfire lower radiator hose is 585966 according to my catalog.

Eric,
I have a turbo which, I believe, has never been installed on a car. The turbo to manifold gasket looks to be perfect. I was going to put the turbo on a car just so I can move it outside the garage to work on the garage floor. However I have another gasket which will work for what I want to do. If you can use what I believe is the new one, I…[Read more]
