I have some hope!!! If you listened to the videos above you can hear a noise. It sounds worse on the video than it is but at the same time it for sure has a mechanical noise. With not knowing why this car was parked in 1974 I feared it had a rod knocking. I always fear the worst but the sound was not quite solid enough to be a rod in my opinion. I pulled the driver side valve cover and it for sure has 2 stuck lifter. I need to pull the intake anyway because of the antifreeze issue so I think before I run it any more I will pull the intake and clean out all the water passages I can and attempt to clean the lifters and get them free. Not sure if that is possible? I know I am going to rebuild it but I just can’t bring myself to do it till I can get it running good as it is first. I will only be out an intake gasket this way so it is worth a try.
