Joe,
Fusick Automotive has the red-orange air cleaner paint. Part number AF150S. Fusick is at (860)623-1589. Dupli-color makes a perfect aluminum color engine enamel paint, part number DE 1615. You should be able to get this at any of the big auto parts stores.

macf85 started the topic 1963 collection of F-85s for sale in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 13 years, 5 months ago
If anybody’s interested. There is a collection of 1963 F-85s and F-85 Cutlasses on Craigslist in the St. Louis, Missouri listings. Six cars all together. One has factory air conditioning and vacuum trunk release. Another has a three speed manual transmission and is a bare bones F-85 with radio delete and no options. I spoke to him today and…[Read more]

I installed the NAPA 8349 top hose today. I left the larger diameter end uncut at the radiator side and just cinched the clamp down tight enough to make a good seal. On the intake manifold side I cut about 3″ off the end. This hose fits pretty good for an adapted part and looks correct unlike the universal accordian type hose I had on there.

Good luck to you! I’m interested in the cost of the custom fab tank. If you get a price on it would post it?

You won’t find a reproduction tank for the 61-63 cars. If you do, let us all know. Other than a custom tank (surely expensive) or trying to find a good used one (you never know what you’re going to get, especially if you buy it long distance) you can try to work with your existing tank. There was a topic on this started a while back. Click on…[Read more]

macf85 replied to the topic Cylinder head gasket in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 13 years, 11 months ago
The metal side goes down toward the block, the composite side goes up toward the cylinder head. I sprayed the metal side of the gasket with Permatex Spray Copper High Temp Coating before installing them on my Cutlass 215.

Hi John,
If you want to match the original style interior you won’t find any pre-made seat covers. There are plenty of aftermarket sources for the 1964 thru 1972 F-85/Cutlass but really none for the 1961 thru 1963 models. If you have a multi-clored interior it will be even more difficult. I had to have an upholstery shop make new seat…[Read more]

I don’t know the exact date they started production but the Jetfire was introduced mid-way through the 1962 year. You probably have one of the earliest cars.
This engine has very high compression for a turbocharged engine (10.25:1)and was meant to run with the alcohol/water injection system to stop detonation. I would’t run it if it were…[Read more]
