I couldn’t stomach the way overpriced D&D set.
I’m trying to track down the info on the parts I ordered from California (they are in the car now). I think the gentleman’s name is Richard Gordon from California Classic Clutch. He just had me count teeth and whatnot. Ring gear count should be 156.
It’s a newer style GM set that fit perfectly! I…[Read more]

Where does the vacuum line go that comes off the rear of the passenger side exhaust manifold. I am not refering to the choke tube. This comes off the back and has vacuum pressure. it would be nice if I could post a picture but the file is too big.

What are people doing for floor and trunk pans? What fits what doesn’t? I’m will definitely be doing the trunk pan and possibly a little bit of the floors as well. Thanks!

Jim
Had our seats redone using them. They look outstanding! Fit great and the color is much brighter. It was amazing how much the sun baked out of the original. Well worth the effort! -

I used these guys, they seem to have the best prices. I only did my front seats (no convertible backs) but they are really nice.

Does anyone know the company that offers re-manufactured seat covers for the 1963 Jetfire/Cutlass seats? I have seen them offered for sale but can’t remember the company that offers them.

Latest update : after installing a 4 speed Tranny and it working smoothly, I also swapped out the old Rochester Carb for a MSD Fuel Injected Carburetor – starts right up without pumping the gas pedal every time – I no longer deal with rough starting after the engine has been warmed due to fuel evaporation in the float chamber……..F.I. Carb is…[Read more]

Thanks for your reply and information. I am looking at an Olds matched set but they are in rough condition and would need resurfacing if they are rebuildable. The seller is asking too much for the condition. Just waiting and watching (and learning) and hoping to get lucky. Thanks again, Fred

Fred,
There is a lot of different flywheels, all for 1961-63 F-85’s. They very in weight from ~20# to 34# depending on the application. Once you find a suitable flywheel you will then need a clutch disk and pressure plate to match, not easy to find either. Attached is a list from the parts manual and some weight/application data. D&D might seam…[Read more] -

If your real question is, “is there a flywheel from another engine that fits a 215?”, the answer is no. There are several variants of 215 flywheels, by the way, including the Buick inertia ring flywheels.

Thanks, they do have them. Trying to save some money and hoping that another GM flywheel cross referenced to the 215. Have an Olds 215 four barrel engine with 60,000 original miles that has been in my garage for thirty years. Trying to put together a whole engine transmission package while there is a possibility of salvage or used parts. D&D, I…[Read more]

Contact D&D, good possibility they will have one. Two different flywheels-9-1/2″ or 10″. All Jetfire cars use 10″. Most other F-85’s use a 9-1/2″.
