The standard drive pulley has one groove. It drives the water pump/fan and alternator or generator. A two groove pulley is used for power steering where the second groove drives the power steering pump. For P/S and AC, a third groove is needed. It is a second drive pulley hub with one groove that fits inside the hub of the primary pulley, now giving three grooves.
