The small cutout in the front of the hood insulator is to allow clearance for the Turbo Rocket Fluid tank cap. This should be cutout on all 1962 and most likely 1963 Jetfire’s too? Someone here should be able to state for sure about a 1963? I do not have pictures of an original 1963 with the insulator shown.
