Carburetor must have been leaking vacuum internally. I put an Edlebrock on it and so far it has not stalled yet.

I am having custom linkage made for it so I can drive it and fully test this theory.

Also, I had a custom made bottom made for the original air cleaner so I can use the original one.

    So far, so good.

Chirping noise is actually getting better. Still don’t know what it is but getting quieter.

Ok, anyone have an idea why the car will be idling just fine and quit when hot? Starts right back up.

    Fuel pressure is 6 psi
Timing is 5 BTDC vacuum advance is working fine.
    Voltage at coil is good.
    jets are clear no dirt

cutting out problem is a vacuum leak. Going through the Carb again.

Well, it’s not in the valves. Found that out today.

Noise is still there even when in drive. When I rev the engine the noise is not heard but I think it just changes resonance. I have driven the vehicle it drives real nice.

I am having another issue now. When I am cruising at 60mph the acts like I hit a headwind for a second then lets up. May be in carburetor or ignition.

We tore the engine down a 2nd time to check rods and mains. Found nothing wrong. Thrust was good. Cam looked good.

Sound is more prevalent on driver’s side.

Anyone have any issues with a lifter, lifter bore, or rocker arms?

The rocker tubes were cooked out and put back together. Concerned about where which rocker arm is after putting it back together. I had someone do this for me. Waiting on video from this morning to upload.
