No one reproduces these. Good used from a desert car or hand-fabricated are your only options.

Received my new Viton diaphragm valve and have installed. Hope this is the last one!
The also pulled off the end of the valve tube and replaced the stem seal in there. I don’t believe Old Air went that far.
Terrance at Fusick as very helpful.
Thanks for all the comments.

Hi, does anyone know of a company that makes replacement floorboard panels for a ’61-’63 Cutlass/Jetfire? I have some that are rusted out that need to be replaced. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I guess I’m not much help. I haven’t had a negative experience due to the antifreeze used, and I haven’t used the Evans type. If I learn of something on this problem, I’ll post.

Hi,
The problem is not rebuilding the valve or getting the diaphragm, please read up to the earlier posts for the issue.
Also, I understand there is a stem seal that should be replaced behind the diaphragm. Were you able to get that?

Hi, I’ve been able to rebuild the heater valve myself and it seems to have worked fairly well. NAPA sells the diaphragm for about 10 bucks. It is part no. BK 6601000. You just have to pry the tabs away from the back and separate the parts, remove the old valve, clean up the pieces (I bead blast them), then I put some spray on gasket sealant and…[Read more]

Okay, I took a couple pictures of the clip and the letters. The picture has a “D” that I broke the posts off of and an “L” with the posts intact. Also, there is a picture of one of the little clips I was able to preserve. The post is 1/4″ wide. I’ll see if there are any clips in the Restoration Specialities catalog that might work for this.…[Read more]

Fusick has now had produced and tested a Viton diaphragm that is resistant to the Evans and other antifreeze like Dexcool with additives corrosive to the commonly used rubber diaphragms.
Doing one for me now. Be glad to have a heater back. -

Thanks, guys. This is all very helpful. I’ll try to salvage some of those clips and where I can’t use an adhesive like Eric mentions. I’ll keep you posted and let you know if I have any other questions. I’ll post some pictures too.

My 63 has semi gloss engine compartment from the factory. The pic is from under my wiper motor. It’s a good quality paint. My car was undercoated, if that had any thing to do with it

Hi Bruce,
I am not sure of the clip you are looking for? Many letters and emblems are mounted with a barrel clip like the JETFIRE emblems on the 1962 Jetfire front fenders. Some are in the Restoration Specialties 2020 catalog. Look on their page 213 for barrel clips. The letters on the front of a 1962 use speed nuts, also in their catalog.

The E I have is missing a stud and the chrome is dull on both of them. For some reason I can’t post pictures here any more but if I can get an email address I could send you pictures. I have not found the clips yet but I know I have some
