I’ve attached a photo from the shop manual. Again, I have the original 4GC Carberator along with the Roto-5 automatic tranny. The car had an Eddlebrock with a self rigged linkage that caused the tranny to under perform and eventually burnout; I got the tranny rebuilt, but due to the lack of correct linkage the tranny only puts out 10psi- I guess…[Read more]

Bruce,
Thanks very much for that advise; I have the “rubber gasket” style. I think cutting the old gasket to pull out the window makes great sense; installing the trim into the gasket first also makes good sense. I keep you postedThanks.

Does anyone have or know of someone with a throttle linkage assembly (4GC car to the Roto 5 auto tranny) for a 1962 F-85? I need the entire linkage assembLy that connects the carb to the tranny as well as the long rod from behind the gas pedal. I don’t believe it is interchangeable witH a Buick.

Sadly cracked my windscreen, having Safelite Replace the windshield I picked up from Pilkington. Am getting very apprehensive about them damaging/crimping/denting the metal trim piece as they say it is really fussy. Any advise as to how to avoid damaging the trim?

Are there any extra-steps or measures I should take into account if I intend to add a full turbo powered engine to my standard Roto-5 that I plan to have rebuilt?
Please advise

I am a new clubmember and plan a rebuild for my 1962 F-85 Cutlass Convertible’s Roto-5 next month. What can I do to make the outer casing look fantastic “car show” ready? Should I media blast it and apply a clear coat? or do I spray it with regular silver car paint?. My eventual goal is to convert my Convert into a Jetfire.

Guys,
Im new to the club and am looking purchase my first ’62 F85 Convert Cutlass – California car, so I’m anticipating negligible rust at best. seems look consistant – but it does not have the single dorsal trim on the hood; was that an option? I’m also considering to add a ’61/’62 Starfire console, but not sure if I have the space between the…[Read more]
