I feel like I should know your name but can’t place who you are by your user name. Unfortunately we will not make it to the nationals this year. We will be at the Homecoming show in 2019 with both of our Jetfire. They will be hosting the Jetfire for next years show. Feel free to call me anytime. 812 nine eight six three three six five.

When I restore the car it will have a red turbo on it. I may put a red turbo on it for the homecoming show but not sure yet. I have one I started building a year ago and got pulled off the project and never got back to it. I plan to finish it later this summer so it may find its way onto this car for Homecoming.

I am reverting back to this thread since we are not restoring this car for another year or so.

I took it out for a drive and a little testing tonight. I wanted to see where it boosted at and what the vacuum readings were on it. I pulled the boost gauge and installed an accurate vacuum and pressure gauge. at idle it has a 20 inch vacuum. I did not think it would be that high. When cruising steady at 55 MPH on flat ground it was at 17 inch vacuum. I done two full pulls and both times it went to 8.5 PSI. I assumed that my gauge was off the first time so I did it again and it went to the same place. I got home and tested my vacuum and pressure gauge and is on the nose correct. I then tested my fluid tank cap because I thought it would pop before that but it pops at 9 psi.

I then tested my boost gauge and it is at 20 inch vacuum and 8 psi at each extreme of the needle.

I am fore sure surprised that it boosts this high. I feel sure that this turbo has never been apart or modified. I did this with our automatic car and can’t remember what the figures were. I am going to do that car soon but it does not have the original cam in it so the vacuum readings will likely be different.

Another question, Does anyone have a source or part number for the gasket to this? I can make one easy enough but wondering if it is a gasket that someone is making? I can’t remember what I done for our automatic car?

Does the Cutlass have the smaller nipple on it also? I was thinking the Cutlass only had the big one

The manual cross member is also rubber mounted but it is a different bushing setup than automatic.

I was wondering about that. I know the T-10 transmission was in many cars and figured something matches up. I believe the Muncie 4 speed also used the same one. I googled that number with the Anchor brand and is still a good number. Anchor makes 99% of all mounts I think. Thanks

That is interesting, I picked up an NOS trans mount from Fusick several years ago when we rebuilt the engine in the automatic car. It came rounded like the one you show for 4 speed car. I wonder if I have the wrong one in it now. Maybe I need to find one for the automatic car and use that one in the 4 speed car? I will look at mine closer and go from there. I have not looked at the one in the 4 speed car but I would think it is bad after all these years.

Was it very expensive to have them make a new one?

Are your cars Lansing cars? The guy telling me about the two different style on the big cars is thinking that it may be a difference in build plant suppliers. I got our automatic car down and looked and it has the spring ring style on it and I believe it is original also. I am betting that either style was found on the f-85 line like the big car line.

I will let you know if I come up with another one but not likely going to find one. A guy has passed away that had loads of 70-72 442 parts and when they started digging they found that he has some NOS Jetfire stuff. So far they have only found one of each part they find. They are coming up with some incredible stuff. Not lots of it but the parts he had are gold. I have my hopes up that they find an NOS fluid tank float.

He just sent me pictures and it looks just like the one in our automatic car. I assume it to be correct for our 4 speed car also.
