RonParticipant`Has anyone found a bracket to switch from a gen. to alternator?? for a 62.

young oldsParticipantwhen i converted to an alternator I simply put spacers between the existing brackets and the engine to get proper belt alignment. I did have to strengthen the upper mount as vibrations broke it the first time around but anything to keep the alternator from vibrating will help.

macf85ParticipantGet the alternator bracket for a 1963 model. GM switched to alternators on all their cars in 1963.

RonParticipantThank you for the info. I bought eng. separate from car, it didn’t have bracket on it. Does any one have a bracket for a 1963.??
