Finally getting around to installing my carpet. Didn’t realize it until I took a look at a friends coupe but There’s a big difference to stock. I know those of you who have done carpet must know this and wonder if I have the right carpet and if so how did you handle it?
Stock In the coupe, pictures att, and another parts car convertible we hav…[Read more]

Sorry this is so long.
Put a std pump in my eng. D&D recommended a high volume pump, my eng builder and TA Performance recommended against it. Reason being don’t need it. The oil pump drive from the dist is a weak point and the high volume pump puts more stress on it. That being said I wish I had more hot oil idle pressure, while off idle no c…[Read more] -

Well, I stand corrected. I based that on another member using 61 mounts and not being able to get them fully home in the Upper unibody Frame member. Had some pics and everything.
If that’s the case I sold some NOS 61s I could have used, although mine are in decent shape it would have been nice to have some unused ones in there that the car h…[Read more]

I think someone is parting out a car on the 6163skylark site. Might have some.
I think 61-63 drums are all the same for f85 and skylark special aren’t they?
I got a set off craigslist . How about DVAP?

Be sure to use correct original style gasket for the pump. The later melting gaskets being supplied don’t have an internal relief required for these pumps. You can punch one out of the later gasket or the pump will blow it out( not really desirable).
Also TA Performance sells a gasket shim kit, .001-.0065” thick, so you can get the end play of…[Read more]

You’ll still notice a difference even though they looked good they are still 60 year old rubber. 61 to 63 diff Don’t know.
Thats why I’d like to replace my front mounts. They look okay but you know new rubber would be better.

Also, QuietRide in Stockton calif sell a variety of precut kits of sound deadening and heat shielding products for these cars. Both invisible under carpet stuff, doors, and and visible like trunk and hood insulation.
They had several F85 models to make templates from. I used their PVC firewall insulation piece and it fit great.
I had no…[Read more]

ACC is the manufacturer and their carpet is sold by Resellers at about 1/2 the price that ACC sells for. For example: ACC sells the 63 Jetfire carpet at $351 and Stock Interiors sells the very same carpet made by ACC, shipped from ACC, in an ACC box for $183. Same options, material, color choice. OC is a little cheaper still I think.
Like a lot…[Read more]

62cutlassconvert replied to the topic Larger front sway bar? in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 3 years, 11 months ago
Gotta be careful with sway bars. Too much on one end or the other can radically upset your over/under steer condition. Too big a bar can all of a sudden mean you go into too much oversteer up front and promote rear end break away in a corner when you least expect it. Or vice versa. Go into a corner hot, turn in and here comes the rear end…[Read more]

Have you tried it out with your existing front bar? Might work good. Over/understeer will be the key.
You used the supplied square mounting plate?

Summit shows an application for the 62 Cutlass, #936. Picture is “not representative”. I think that’s where I got it and if memory serves that is the number. I looked for my receipt but can’t find it. I would think a skylark or special application would fit but can’t see how a tempest application would fit as it has a transaxle-completely…[Read more]

Yes, the adjustable seat tracks for the passenger side. Mirror of the drivers side.
They both have a fork in the front that goes under a bolt and the rear has a hole on one track to bolt down and a hole in the other track to slip over a stud in the floor. They bolt up to the seat frame with one bolt front and rear.…[Read more]
