Does anyone know if the 63 Oldsmobile Cutlass seats or the Pontiac Tempest seats are basically the same? There are replacement seat upholstery for these cars, but I can’t find any for the 62. Someone told me the seats are the same (other than the pattern on the seats).

The seat frames and springs are the same. The upholstery is completely different between 62 and 63 Olds. The upholstery is also different between Olds, Buick and Pontiac. I have not found anyone who offers the 62 Olds Cutlass/Jetfire seat covers “ready to buy/install”. Cutlass and Jetfire upholstery pattern, materials and colors are the same. SMS will make a custom set of seat covers on a “make to order” basis.

Thank you. I found auto obsession makes seat covers for the 63 Cutlass F85. Doesn’t look like it has the chrome piece across the top and side of the seat. So you are saying the 62 and 63 have identical frames? I realize the pattern of the upholstery is different, but I could live with a different color and pattern.
Here is the link for Auto Obsession for the 1963 Oldsmobile seats

The 63 bucket seats do have the stainless steel trim piece across the top of the back rest and down the sides. The picture from the upholstery supplier does not show the trim, but it should be there. Here is a pic from Ken that shows the 63 blue seat, with the trim piece.
