63ConvParticipantfound this 63 F85 convertible 215 four barrel, auto on floor. The VIN confuses me 631MP8269. The car is a total mess. Can anybody help? I know it is not a jet fire. Steve

63ConvParticipantWhat does the P stand for in the VIN? Steve

jensenracing77ParticipantAre you sure it is a P? Is this what is on the title and also the VIN tag? Could it have been a typo on the title? Can we get a picture of the cowl tag and VIN tag? I am wondering what the build date is.

63ConvParticipantI will get better pictures tomorrow of the VIN and data plate. At best this is a parts car. It has been setting at the edge of a field. The exterior stainless trim is nice, no floor pan, Convertible top bows are good, I do not think it can be fixed without costing a lot. There is also a 63 F85 coupe there V8 column shift auto. Steve

There should not be a letter in that position of the VIN.

63ConvParticipantI talked to the owner and there is not a title for the convertible, I am going back and take better a better photo of the VIN and of the data plate. I just got back from car, the VIN is 631M08269, the build date 10D. I will get my sister to download photos from my phone to my computer. Here is the my visual condition of the car.
lower quarter panels gone
rocker panels gone
driver side fender needs to be replaced
passenger fender good
doors can be fixed
floor and trunk pans gone
cars has been sitting on ground for 15 years, most likely unibody frame rails rusted

joe_padavanoParticipantSounds like you’d have to a bunch of money into it just to bring it up to the status of a parts car.
