ChrisBaldwinParticipantHi
Happy owner of a 62 cutlass hereSmelling gas and seeing discoloration from around sending unit
Gas gauge works fine so I think sending unit is fine, but probably should get new gasketPoking around for past articles/sources for that gasket without a lot of luck
Kanter may have a sending unit that “should” come with a gasket.Any experience to share on this? probably just cut one out of cork if all else fails?

62 Cutlass ConvertParticipantIf you use cork use the impregnated cork material. Did one like that, Sealed to sending unit with Permatex aircraft sealer with nothing to the tank.so I can pull it on and off tank when needed. Works well.
You could use HighTack to the tank, it would be removable.Pure cork will leak.
Don’t use silicone gasket maker, it’s not appropriate for Gas.
Might be a standard gasket for GM back then too.
