Back when I use to search for parts on auction sites. I would run across a set of post cards of cars of the world or something like that. And in that set of artist paintings of cars of the time was a convertible 62 Jetfire. I saw that set for sale numerous times.

You must be looking at the wrong one. Like I said search 62 f-85 on that site and it’s a red convertible, second row from the bottom.

Your car has a vinyl roof as Eric noted. The 1962 Jetfire in your picture is Chariot Red, paint code V. The car could have been ordered with two tone paint for $16.46 option price. The Sports top vinyl roof covering was a $75.32 option and was option J-1. Neat car, I have the twin!

A 1962 and 1963 Oldsmobile Jetfire was a specific model of Oldsmobile, not an option added to a F-85. Unlike the 442, which was an option and could be ordered on a 2 door, 2 door hard top or convertible, F-85. The most unique feature of the Jetfire was the pillerless 2 door hard top, the only 2 door hardtop offered in the…[Read more]

That is a vinyl top. The A pillars have the stainless on them. The A pillars would be white also if it were painted.

This is a picture of my Dad’s 1962 Jetfire he bought new in Maryland. He drove it out west to Montana with my Mom in 1963. He had issues with how it was running and stopped at a couple dealerships along the way but he never felt like they were able to get it running right. He traded it…[Read more]

New to the site. Great source of info. Were the white tops on the 62 Jetfires available in vinyl, painted, or both? Thanks.

Nothing about that car says Jetfire. It’s a 62 Cutlass Ragtop. What do you see as an issue?

There were no factory built Jetfire convertibles. There have been a number of phantoms built over the years.

I was checking online for 62 f-85’s and came across this thing. It’s on topclassiccarsforsale.com. Just search 62 f-85. They call it a Cutlass, but they really did a job on it. It’s hard to tell if they cut a top off a Jetfire or just swapped everything over on a Cutlass. The top looks like it has problems. I would like to see what you experts…[Read more]
