My 63 has semi gloss engine compartment from the factory. The pic is from under my wiper motor. It’s a good quality paint. My car was undercoated, if that had any thing to do with it

I am restoring my original hub caps and wheels. The hub caps are nearly mint but the F85 red logo is faded. As I started to remove the original paint, I could see the unfaded paint below. It looks the same as the translucent paint on the rear F85 emblem. So I found a perfect match paint. The black painted areas are nearly perfect so I just waxed it.

oaklyss replied to the topic Change oil pan in situ? in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 5 months, 4 weeks ago
I’ve done it. Disconnect transmission and pull it back. Disconnect exhaust, motor mounts etc. Raise engine and disconnect oil pan. It won’t come off until you reach in and unbolt oil pickup. Then it will come off. You have to reverse procedure to put back together. Pain in the ass. I would pull motor it’s quicker.

Eric, I will take the rear end.
Wow this car is early, and Lansing. Does X-T-2M correlate to power brakes I wonder? Anything that has to do with the body would be on the tag, and power brakes require punched holes.
The inspection marks are interesting. Must be a Lansing thing.
Cool find and useful parts too. -

I used the Melling K-20H for the gear and spring kit, and a Sealed Power 224-518TP for the trust plate kit. Check the trust surface of your pump to see it it is worn.

Pic 2 is the rebuilt oil pump. You should install a new gears and spring kit, and a steel trust plate kit.

Pic 1 A machinist will want to deck the block. I told mine no. These numbers are too important to have them machined off. My block was good and the composite head gaskets seal just fine even with imperfections. Also, decking a block will raise the compression, and you don’t want that.
