I know that method but it only gives you an approximate that you can try to match with available gear ratio’s.

I was looking at the artices to get an idea of what my cars might have for gears but I dont know what the 117/116 means. Both are 62’s one is a f-85 coupe with 15″ wheels and a 3 speed manual, the other is a deluxe(i believe) wagon. Are there axle codes so I can find out without opening them up?

By modifying the floor pan/trans hump do you mean cut and weld or just a big hammer?

So the auto and 4 speed are seemingly identical? Im no stranger to modifying things so that wont be a problem, how far down did you drop it?

Assuming the car has the dual bolt pattern, will the 3 speed transmission crossmember work with a t10?

I decided to go manual with it so i ditch the th350 and bought a t56 and a flywheel. Not to much has been done to the car itself just been working on the axle and painting suspension parts. been cleaning up and assembling the engine also, its just a thirty over low comp with a cam, nothing special.
