jensenracing77ParticipantThis plastic filler plug is what I took off my Jetfire. I have another 62 Jetfire that also has these plastic plugs. I have a 62 Cutlass that has metal ones and a 61 Buick that has metal ones and then found a couple pictures of other Cutlass cars with metal ones. Not sure why a Jetfire would be different but so far I am only finding plastic ones on the Jetfire. I have not pulled the fenders from my 63 Jetfire or Cutlass to know what 63 has.

joe_padavanoParticipantThe 62 Jetfire parts car that I have also has a plastic plug there. I have not had the fenders off of my two wagons to see what those have.

macf85ParticipantMy ’63 Cutlass has plastic plugs. Luckily in great shape so I cleaned them up and reused them.

jensenracing77ParticipantI just pulled enough of my 63 Cutlass and Jetfire and both of those were plastic. So looks like maybe all 63 were plastic for this super small sample…. Not that this is a big deal but still interesting finding these differences no matter what the reason. I guess I need to find more 62 cars of both style and see if one is mixed from what is found so far.

jensenracing77ParticipantNow I wonder if it was a part year change or if it is Jetfire and Convertible only? I don’t know why I obsess over little trivial things like this… I guess I just find it fascinating just how much they were changing these cars all along the three years. I will post the question on the 61-63 page on Facebook. There are lots of Cutlass and convertible guys there that have parts cars around.
