jensenracing77ParticipantWhere do I find a reproduction decal for the oil cap on the 62 Jetfire? I can not seam to find them but I have seen cars with them. I found a very nice use original cap and it still has a decal but everything has rubbed off of it and you can’t read it anymore. I can not see where the cap on our 4 speed car ever had one on it. Did all these caps have this decal?

macf85ParticipantJim Osborn has one for a 1963 Cutlass. Not sure if it’s exactly the same as ’62 Jetfire. Here is a link: http://www.osborn-reproduction.com/catalog/ProductDetail.asp?rsProduct_Position=FIL%3ACAT+%3D+%27OA3A%27ORD%3AABS%3A80KEY%3APAR%3A
I can take picture of mine if you’d like.

jensenracing77ParticipantThanks for the link. I guess I don’t know if the 62 is suppose to have them or just the 63. I looked up the one I seen it on and it was a 63. I bet this cap I found is also a 63. Can anyone confirm if the 62 had it?

Greg OakleyParticipantEric,
Both the 1962 and 1963 Jetfire used the same cap and the same sticker. However, in 1963 the Jetfire cap was painted RED. The 1962 cap is painted BLACK.The sticker is also on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1963-Oldsmobile-Oil-Filler-Cap-Decal-F-85-215-V8-/381446086058?hash=item58cff55daa:g:oFcAAMXQDK1RxJ5i&vxp=mtr

Greg OakleyParticipantThe caps are very hard to find and usually need a new filter element. Just cut a new one out of a foam air cleaner element.
