For any of you purist out there, I have looked for an original boot for the positive battery cable for a long time. All the repops I have ever found were not even close to the original. Well, I just found them! In the Fusick 1935 to 1960 catalog it is part number SCC46 and looks to be exactly the same. I will be ordering one with my next order of parts from them. Someone a while back told me they found one before but couldn’t remember who it was or where they found it.

Nice find, Eric. I’ve noticed that many vendors do not take the time to research parts that cross over from one type of car to another. For example, I found the correct color arm rest pads for my 62 available from Hubbard’s Impala Parts. Sometimes GM’s “parts bin engineering” pays off.

    Eric,
Just got mine on eBay from oldbuickparts for $6.75.
EBay is an incredible source of parts for our cars. Many cross over parts.
