I only have antenna TV so I will not see it but there are a couple satellite shows that will likely have this car on it. They did not interview me but they did interview Ryan Brutt about the car. He is the Hot Rod Magazine guy that was part of finding the car.

Move in day at MCACN! A guy from Hod Rod Magazine Seen me pushing the extra engine in and shot a tone of pictures. I was not even set up yet and was wanting pictures of me with the car and engine. It is not even close to show day and people are going nuts over it. Lots of fun. I think I will be wore out by the time Sunday night rolls around.

Jim, Was April 20 1962 the first day they were available to pick up at the dealer or was that the day they made an announcement?

I am reading on the Corvair forum and they all say the Corvair was first. I know everyone whats to believe there car was first but still like to get hard numbers of when they arrived at the dealers.

I read that and also read others that say the Corvair was first. I would like to pinpoint the date they were truly available for someone to pick up at the dealers. I always thought the Jetfire was first but like to have hard dates. I have something coming up and would like to be able to have facts to back me up.

Getting ready for the MCACN show in Chicago and had all three cars out at the same time. I will post some pictures from the show. This will be the first time for a Jetfire to be at that show.

Did you clean it or is this picture as you found it? If it is as you found it I would say this was done before the rebuild. As clean as it looks I don’t think it is from sitting the past 10 years. Were the water passages empty while it sit the past 10 years? I would bet you are ok and this is from long ago.

No way to know for sure but it is likely ok. My 4 speed Jetfire was not ran since 1974 and it eat alot of stuff up but everything will be ok other than the intake manifold. It eat all the way through from the water port to an intake port.

I got the brakes finished Saturday and took it for two short slow drives. The tires are junk so I kept it at 30 MPH or less. I did get it to 35 one time but not long. No pictures but I got much done on the brake system. I had to replace the two axle brake lines and the line running from the front to the back axle. All three were to rusty to reuse safely. The front two brake lines are a little rusty but seam to be solid enough to be safe. I will replace those when I rebuild the engine at a later date. I rebuilt…[Read more]

Art, For the air filter you can either make and use the oiled foam like off road uses or have a K&N custom made. I have a K&N new that I can sell you if you have to have it now but I would have to have $128 shipped for it. I picked up these NOS caps for the 15’s. After the MCACN show I will likely list the used ones on the car if someone is interested in them. The ones on the car are pretty nice but not perfect. Does anyone have the correct 15 inch trim ring? I would like to get an extra ring.

I got the master cylinder from Ken today. Thanks Ken! I took it apart and this thing is perfect inside! I honed it and installed the new kit and will try to install it this week.
