No one sells new tanks for Y-body cars. Some folks have adapted the 62 Nova tank by having the filler neck relocated.

My tank is beat up with some debatable patches. Would like to find a nice new tank but don’t see any.
Question is:
1. Are new drop in tanks available from anyone?
2. Anyone have a spare tank in nice shape?
I’m thinking shipping would be prohibitive but don’t really know.I’m close to San Jose CA and could drive out pick up if close enough.
Thanks

I found the correct repro bushings for the 15/16” bar. It is a 1963 corvette bushing and is exactly like the original, here is a photo and my originals that are distorted from years of use. These fit perfect and have the locating bulge. Tracy Corvette has these and they also have 3/4” which equals 12/16” so close to the 13/16” bar size and would p…[Read more]

I want to repaint my Jetfire aircleaner, housing, and have been unable to find a source for the decals that go on the aircleaner box. Any suggestions?

Don’t know but i gave my upholstery guy a set of 62 buckets with torn up covers and crumbling foam and he made some really nice orig pattern covers with his own foam. Came out really nice.
I just had him do a set for my 64 chevelle, which other than the cover pattern are same as cutlass… Abody seats. I bought quality pre-formed foam for it and…[Read more]

I was restoring my mother’s’ 62 convertible in high school, in the late 70’s & 80’s. I also was tearing apart a running Jetfire ( minus the turbo) to put the neat body and trim parts on the convertible. I swapped the interior, hood, steering wheel and column, and console. The hood is the only outside part I swapped. I do not like the wide…[Read more]

Yes, I have seen pictures of that red 1962 convertible many times. It is a Cutlass or even a plain F-85 trimmed out to look like a Jetfire. It is NOT a factory produced car. To the best of my knowledge, I made the first Jetfire convertible back in 1982. I still have that car today. It has been pictured in over ten books and has been in numerous…[Read more]
