BruceM started the topic Turbo Rocket Fluid Formula in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 3 years, 8 months ago

    Hi Everyone,

I know this is posted somewhere but for some reason I can’t find it. Can someone please send me or post the formula to make turbo rocket fluid formula out of windshield washer fluid? I have 20 below washer fluid and I know that makes a difference. Thanks for your help.

    Hi Jim,

You are correct that the inside diameter is 1/4″. The outside diameter measures at 1/2″. It should be a standard application for that smallest size hose, as I understand. Please let me know if you’ve got one and how much you’d like for it. Thanks, as always, for your help.

    Hi Everyone,

I’m trying to find a smallest size (1/4″) fuel hose clamp that looks like the one in the attached pictures. I have that one, but it is too large. I need to seal the fuel return hose on my Jetfire project that has the smaller diameter fuel line. If you have one you would be willing to sell, please let me know. Thanks very…[Read more]

Okay, the molding inside of the front window will be different depending on if the windshield is a glue in type or has a gasket that holds the windshield. He will need to let me know what kind he has.

    Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have a turbo rocket fluid filter bracket they could sell to me? I thought I had one for my current project and in looking through my stuff I can’t seem to find it. And, I’ve looked everywhere. Any help on this is much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi, it should be the same as the Cutlass except for the “Jetfire” plaque on the dash. What does he need?

Thanks, Sandy. I’ve been able to preserve a few of the clips, but most are disintegrated like yours. I’ll definitely look into the emblem adhesive. That is probably the best option. Thanks, again.

Hi, does anyone know of a company that makes replacement floorboard panels for a ’61-’63 Cutlass/Jetfire? I have some that are rusted out that need to be replaced. Thanks for your help.

Sorry, I guess I’m not much help. I haven’t had a negative experience due to the antifreeze used, and I haven’t used the Evans type. If I learn of something on this problem, I’ll post.

Hi, I’ve been able to rebuild the heater valve myself and it seems to have worked fairly well. NAPA sells the diaphragm for about 10 bucks. It is part no. BK 6601000. You just have to pry the tabs away from the back and separate the parts, remove the old valve, clean up the pieces (I bead blast them), then I put some spray on gasket sealant and…[Read more]

Okay, I took a couple pictures of the clip and the letters. The picture has a “D” that I broke the posts off of and an “L” with the posts intact. Also, there is a picture of one of the little clips I was able to preserve. The post is 1/4″ wide. I’ll see if there are any clips in the Restoration Specialities catalog that might work for this.…[Read more]

Thanks, guys. This is all very helpful. I’ll try to salvage some of those clips and where I can’t use an adhesive like Eric mentions. I’ll keep you posted and let you know if I have any other questions. I’ll post some pictures too.

    Hi Eric,

Thanks for your reply. I was able to get most of the trunk letters out without breaking them. I need a “D” and an “E”. I was able to pry them out with a putty knife just enough to squirt some WD40 in there and let it soak. Then I gently pried them out. Now, there are these little clips that hold them in place and they all…[Read more]

    Hi Guys,

While I’m finishing up my current 62 Jetfire project, I have started working on a 63 Cutlass project. I recently acquired a 63 Jetfire project car too, so a lot of my questions will apply to that car.

The 63 Cutlass engine compartment is black. Is it supposed to be gloss black, semi-gloss, or flat? What was it from the…[Read more]

Wow. That’s a restorable car. I wouldn’t part it out or rat-rod it. But that’s me. It looks like you have some parts for a ’61 F-85 too (grille, headlight bezels, steering wheel center).
