Eric, the assembly manual has dimensions for the air cleaner decals. It actually goes up to the cover on the side.

After researching this car, it seems every flipper this car went through has done some type of work on it to make more money. It shows this car is far enough from original condition to not be able to be called a “survivor or original ” A survivor has all original paint and components. A lot of cars have original interior and that’s all this car h…[Read more]

Did you see the YouTube video from Hershey last fall? Can you post it? I need to learn how to post links.
The Classic Car Ad is almost word for word plagiarized from my Ad 3 years ago -

If you google you will find it for sale last year on Classic cars.com. with lots of photos and a different description of the paint. Car has been mostly repainted. the photos show trunk has been repainted, wrong 1962 trunk mat with missing cardboard side panels.
There is also a video of this car for sale at Hershey last fall. It shows the under…[Read more] -

Interesting, under hood is re-painted black. Heater and everything has been painted over, cowl tag is painted and hood springs are painted over. Turbo repainted silver.
Just a few small things have been changed:
Battery cables wrong, yes exhaust is very wrong.
Blue TRF, should be white, so not original juice.
Wrong dip stick (hard to find an…[Read more] -

I always wondered where the name came from. A Cutlass is a sword, but F-85? Until I saw this F-86 Sabre, a Sabre is also a sword. It was the Jet-Age and Space-Age after all.

Well, when are you picking it up? It’s just a part out, too far gone. I could use windshield moldings and left side trim pieces.

With so few Jetfires built on the line compared to hundreds of thousands of other cars, I’m sure they had to refer to the manual when a rare Jetfire came down the line. However, they would not have had much time to refer to it.
Sandy, I noticed on your car you have a 62 washer fluid tank. Could be the were using up the 62 tanks or ran out of 6…[Read more] -

There does not appear to much usable left of the body. Very rusty. You would be just buying it for the turbo parts but you could get those way cheeper then buying a whole car.

I found an interesting detail in the 63 assembly manual. The wire to the TRF tank goes on the flat side of the fluid level float switch. All cars I see have it on the other side.

The shifters are the same. So is other early 60s GM cars, just the stick is different. Parts can be used from these other shifters.

I have not seen a 63 with insulation cut out for the TRF tank cap, only on 62. Funny thing is that the factory masking on my hood for the insulation glue left that area clear of glue.
Jim, the extra cut out I am talking about is about 1” wide and 10” long to the right side of the large cut out, increasing its size. Look at the photo of my ori…[Read more] - Load More
