Thanks Joe. Just looked in on forum and see you replied. Based on the info noted here, once this leak gets to me and moves to the front of projects list I’ll pull the eng/trans to fix it.
That’s the wagon you bought up here in Santa Cruz Mtns at Luke’s isn’t it?

You’ve heard of the “Barn find”, well here is a true “Field Find”. This 62 sat it an eastern Washington field since 1989, before I pulled it out about 3 weeks ago. The body is straight and complete. There is some rust in holes the floor board as well as one corner of the trunk, but the rest looks surprisingly solid. The Turbo has long been…[Read more]

Things are moving forward well with the Jetfire. Engine and transmission, drive shaft, heater box & rad in so Steve decided to fill the rad when he discovered it was pouring out the side of the block. Turns out there should have been a drain plug installed by our engine builder that was not, nor was it pointed out that we needed to do that!
I…[Read more] -

“Talk is pulling eng, i assume you all mean dropping the front susp with eng/trans right?”
Not really. There isn’t room to separate the engine from the trans in the car, but pulling engine and trans together isn’t that difficult.

Thanks everyone. Yeah work involved to do it in car was more involved than i had hoped.
Normally, yes leads to other work on eng but this is a new engine so its a “simple” job of doing the gasket.
Pisses me off it leaks, especially cause i had a shop build the engine. They’ll happily replace it if i bring the eng back!Talk is pulling eng, i ass…[Read more]

TRF back up bottle Lid Stencil – awaiting classifieds posting, I though I would include here too.
When shipped new your Jetfire included an under the hood ‘back up bottle’ of Turbo Rocket Fluid – should your pressure tank run dry. The lid of the bottle had ‘Turbo Rocket Fluid’ printed on the cap but if it was lost the replacement caps were plai…[Read more] -

TRF Tank ‘Red Button’ – thought I would post here too
I spent many weeks working with a leading ‘3D print’ production company to recreate the ‘red button’ that goes on the top of the TRF fluid tank pressure relief cap. As the original, the button sits slightly higher than the cap when sealed and pops up prominently at 7 psi. They are color m…[Read more] -

My thoughts on the hub cap color as well Greg: the same translucent red as the F85 logo. Your caps look gorgeous!

I am restoring my original hub caps and wheels. The hub caps are nearly mint but the F85 red logo is faded. As I started to remove the original paint, I could see the unfaded paint below. It looks the same as the translucent paint on the rear F85 emblem. So I found a perfect match paint. The black painted areas are nearly perfect so I just waxed it.
