Latest update : after installing a 4 speed Tranny and it working smoothly, I also swapped out the old Rochester Carb for a MSD Fuel Injected Carburetor – starts right up without pumping the gas pedal every time – I no longer deal with rough starting after the engine has been warmed due to fuel evaporation in the float chamber……..F.I. Carb is […] View

Just viewed the web site. Great company! Looks like they put out great products for the Starfire; I’ll contact them to get the specifics on their Jetfire aluminum panels. If as you say they are EXACT, then this will be a great way to jump start my search for my Jetfire Convertible project.

I was also planning to change from a single master cylinder to a dual, while keeping my original drum brakes, I thought it be wise to convert my master cylinder for safety reasons.

Sounds great. I decided every time I do a repair I will expand the scope to try to include changing out peripheral components (hoses and clamps) and repainting…..I will definitely look into the SS solid brake line tubing.

Thanks for the great advise about the racing pads…makes sense. Planning on replacing my brake fluid and replacing my brake lines this week do I stay with rubber brake lines? are stainless brake lines over kill?

Can anyone advise or have personal knowledge on whether there are “Self Adjusting” kits to add to my ’62 F85?
Also I recently decided not to switch to front disc brakes; the weight of the all aluminum engine doesn’t really cause me to be alarmed about stopping. I have, however, considered relining my shoes with “vintage racing” liners from…[Read more]

I’ve been looking for parts for about a year and a half now, with no luck. Your wife did a great job. Is there somewhere I should be looking. I search Ebay, Craigslist and Hemings with absolute nothing. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Please keep me in mind if you do decide to part with them.

    Good day,
Do you still have parts on the 62 f85/Jetfire? I’m starting up my project, full bore. My project involves converting my ’62 F-85 Deluxe Convertible into a convertible Jetfire, at least from an exterior aesthetic perspective. I believe I have a great base…………And now I am on a quest to find the parts I need and create the Jetfire…[Read more]

On another note; My speedometer fluctuates and has a clicking sound. Any ideas? Is it a cable issue, if so do I purchase a generic speedometer cable…..how do I fix this issue.

FYI: a ’62 is not the same as a ’63; the trim pieces are not interchangable.

    Thanks.

I am primarily needing exterior trim:

    1. Side body Trim
    2. JetfireFender Badges
    3. Jetfire Trunk Badge
    4. Hood with both “Dorsal Fins”

    Thanks again.

Thanks. Spoke with some folk and I’m told the insert is delicate aluminum and i because there is a subtle pattern on it, it will be difficult to straighten .

Can the stainless steel body trim be straightened and polished like new. Looking and getting a set along with front fender badge. There are some small kinks in body trim and some of the paint has faded off the interior dash “jetfire” sign as well as the two front fender badges, what about the aluminum body trim insert? I wanted to make sure they…[Read more]

    Phil.
I am in search of several items for my F85. One piece in particular is the stainless steel trim that the convertible top boot snaps onto when the top is down. I’m also looking for rubber floor matts. I though you were in the DC area; since you’re in the Chicago land area, is there a possibility I can see what extra parts Id be needing . Is…[Read more]
