    Hi Sean,
I have attached the page from the 1963 Oldsmobile Master Parts book. All F-85 fuel tanks are the same part number. The difference is in the “bolt on” pick-up and fuel gauge sender unit. You should be able to use ANY 1963 F-85 fuel tank and use your Jetfire fuel pick-up, fuel return and gauge unit. This unit uses a fuel return (second…[Read more]

    Hi,
Sounds like you two still need gas tank help. My ’62 gas tank leaked when it was filled. Could always smell gas until the tank was down to 1/2 full. Never saw any leaking gas on ground. During 2006 rebuild of this Jetfire, I took tank out and could not find leak myself. Took to a nation wide commercial service, Gas Tank Renu USA…[Read more]

Jim Noel replied to the topic turbo heads in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 14 years, 3 months ago

    Hi T,
The head number you list is for a 1963 build, 215 cid engine, for a hi compression 4 bbl car. All 1962 and 1963 Jetfire/Turbo engine/head numbers start with a “S” and end with a “T”.

Jim Noel replied to the topic Buick 215 and a turbo in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 14 years, 7 months ago

    Hi Joel,
I have not seen a Olds Jetfire turbo mounted on top of the Buick 215 engine. I am not sure if the exhaust manifolds will fit for correct connection to the turbo, but let’s assume they do. The next issue would be turbo and intake fitting with the Buick style valve covers, the Buick valve covers are taller. You would have to be sure the…[Read more]

Jim Noel replied to the topic Clutch and presure plates. in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 14 years, 10 months ago

    Hi Deuce,
I have bought new clutch disks and had the three finger style pressure plates rebuilt. You might be able to have that done in your local area? See the notes under Articles, Nuggets from Noel, Tech Articles from Noel, clutch systems. I don’t think D & D rebuilds them, but not sure. However they do it, I know they have supplied in the…[Read more]

    Hi Deuce,
F-85 and Cutlass use 9 1/2″ clutch & pressure plate. Jetfire uses 10″ clutch & pressure plate.
    D & D can set you up.

    Hi Ron,
Not enough description of your problem to offer help. You should describe the situation more or give me a call.

Jim Noel replied to the topic Beautiful 1962 Jetfire listed on ebay today in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 14 years, 11 months ago

That was a nice looking ’62 Jetfire. Trying to sell a restored Jetfire with a 4 bbl set-up is about the same as selling a 442 with a 6 banger under the hood! To most, Jetfire means turbocharged V-8. Put the 4 bbl on top and you just have a trimmed out Cutlass.
