I was contacted about this car and was told a different story. This is not a factory built car. See if you can get a picture of the cowl tag or pictures of any documents. An under hood shot would be cool also.

As far as I know it is neither one. I believe they are all threaded in. This is something I have needed to look into. I picked up an NOS set of ball joints but not sure I got the correct ones. Hopefully someone here has some experience with this and reply with good information.

Turns out that the seam on the tank has some bad spots in it. I believe a liner will fix it but for now I just cleaned it out and put it back in the car. I will just keep about 5 gallons in it to keep it below the seam. I will not drive it other than pulling it in and out of the garage. I will decide later what I will do with it. With all the over time I am working the red turbo project is still on hold. Today I was able to get some time away from work and with the limited time I had I decided to pull the tank out of this car. The trunk pan is still very nice above the tank. I have been able to remake/rebuild the check and relief valves that screw into the intake manifold. This setup is not like original but does work just like the original. I have not had time to do anything with it. It is in bad shape with lots of rust but does have some good parts on it. It will likely get parted out at some point or possibly be cleaned and detailed for a display engine. Are yours missing? If you have them you can rebuild them if there is not any bad pitting in them. Rockauto has rebuild rubber kits for next to nothing for price if yours are rebuildable. Worst case, you can send them to White Post to be rebuilt. They will sleeve them to make sure you have a true bore but they are not cheap

I am not even close to an expert on these rear ends and never had the limited slip rear end. I do know that the parts are not that easy to find because it is a 3 year only rear end and not a popular one at that. Over the past year or so I have slowly been buying parts from eBay for mine.
