Your best bet is to check eBay. They pop up there from time to time. I’ve been fortunate on my current project to be able to re-use the bearing retainer as it was in pretty good shape. Just cleaned it up. Good luck.

BruceM replied to the topic '62 Windshield Installation in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 10 years, 10 months ago

There were two different styles of windshields for 1962. One was installed by gluing it in. The stainless moldings around the windshield were held by clips that were held in the window channel by screws. The other style of windshield was held in by a rubber gasket that fit into the window opening. The stainless moldings were held in the…[Read more]

BruceM replied to the topic Lower Rocker and side molding (bathtub) clips in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 11 years, 4 months ago

Fusick reproduces the rocker molding clip. They list it for a ’58 Olds and it is part number RMC580. $4.50 each. It is the EXACT clip. I sourced them for my ’62 Cutlass restoration. Don’t know about the bathtub clip. I didn’t remove those on my project.

BruceM started the topic My '62 Jetfire Restoration in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 12 years, 3 months ago

It’s been a while since I’ve posted and I thought I’d post and show some photos of my ’62 Jetfire restoration project. The body work has been done and the interior, door jambs, engine compartment and trunk compartment have been painted. The front end and rear end have been restored and installed and it is ready for paint. Hope to be able to paint…[Read more]

Several months ago I posted “before” pictures of the windshield channel rust damage I was facing in my current ’62 Jetfire project. I thought I would go ahead and post the “after” pictures. For some reason the system won’t allow me to post the “after” photos here, so if you’d like to see them, please e-mail me and I’ll send them to you. I’ve seen…[Read more]

BruceM replied to the topic Exhaust System Parts in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 15 years, 10 months ago

For the ’62 Cutlass I recently finished, I found the pipe from the Y-pipe to the muffler from a company that advertised in Hemmings for vintage exhaust pipes. I believe the company was called Classic Exhaust. An aluminized pipe was about 70 bucks. The pipe came in 2 pieces, one piece was flared at the end and the other press fit into it. It…[Read more]

Thanks for your reply. I guess I got the Y pipe thing mixed up. I have several of the crossover pipes. I see mufflers pop up on eBay every once in a while, but it seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve seen one. I’ll keep my eyes open and keep asking around. Thanks again.

Along the same lines, I need to find a source for a correct reproduction Jetfire exhaust pipe (from the Y pipe to the muffler), a correct muffler (dual outlet) and correct tail pipes (one on each side). Anyone have any info on that? Thanks.
