I have attached a pic of the A-C compressor brackets from the ’63 Oldsmobile Service Manual. Note the brackets are different for P-S and regular steering cars. It is possible that British Leyland, Rover, A-C compressor brackets might work for you too. The 215 block B/L made was the same up into the ’90’s, but I do not know if they mounted the…[Read more]

Not quite sure just what you are looking for. I sure don’t have any pics of an A/C Jetfire engine going into an S-10. Here is one, restored, and ready to go into a ’62 Jetfire.

Hi Eric,
The Jetfire exhaust system is covered in the 63 Service Manual. If you don’t have one, you NEED one. The hangers and locations are true to fit.

The black letters on the silver background is the original, factory issue label for all 1962 and 63 Jetfires. The red letter on a white background label was supplied with the 6-3-64 Oldsmobile “recall” for addition of the external depressurization valve on all known Jetfire cars.

Hi Turborocketeers,
My new toy has been put on the back burner for a while. Received a turbo system for rebuild and that has priority, plus we have been having cold temps and snow, as usual for February. Here is a list of the “little things’ that I have finished in-between the turbo work. Plan to get back to my toy in March! Back to all…[Read more] -

No, not all wheels were painted body color. I think the majority were black. Olds was not very consistant in their cowl tag markings or record keeping. For a time, I thought the Paint code on the cowl tag only used all three color codes when the rims were painted body color and 1 or 2 paint codes when they were black, by default. I have now viewed…[Read more]

I can’t say about the OCA Nats just yet. I will have to wait for the streets to melt off here in MN before I can give the trans a good check out. It is about 525 miles for us and I would not attempt the trip without a real good report on the trans. Just might go with the ‘flop top’ Jetfire though?
Two rims, tires and hubcaps done. -

Working on “new shoes” for her also. Cleaning up the rims and ordered 4 new tires from an eBay seller. Whitesidewall tires are sure hard to find!! The tires that came on her were bias ply, 40 year old ones with many sidewall cracks. The new ones are radials, not original type, but MUCH better performance/ride!

I have cleaned the engine compartment as good as possible, in my garage, while it is below 0 outside. Now ready to reassemble the turbo system and replace any questionable hoses and wireing in the process.

Here are some interior and trunk pics. As for resto plans, I have not decided. I want to get the car running first then make a decission on what is next. Even though the car is complete, it will still take a lot of work to be a good looking driver. Full resto, well you all know how much work & $’s that is!
You can see from the pic of the turbo…[Read more]

Have installed new 45FF plugs, new plug wires, new battery cables, restored a faulty fluid holding tank, added rebuilt tank cap, rebuilt fluid level sensor system and new fluid filter. Complete rebuild of total turbo system and getting close to the first start up for me. Should have all together this next week.

Hi Eric,
I stand corrected regarding rear seat belts in the 1962-63 cars. They were not factory installed but could be dealer or self installed. Attached is the 62-63 Jetfire assembly page for rear seat belts and how to add to a 63. I followed this procedure when I added them to my 62. I do not recall if the dimples were present in the floor pan…[Read more] - Load More
