A little more done. The driver side fender is junk but I pretty much already knew that. Also more rust in the headlight areas than expected but I have NOS parts for all that area. NOS driver side fender, headlight assemblies, parking light assemblies, valance, front side fillers and even the little metal pieces between the inner fender and…[Read more]

The two that I have that are cutlass both have the rubber layer but this one does not. Did all f-85 and Cutlass have the rubber? Till now I thought everything in 62 had it. I would assume this to be the original but I can’t say that for sure. Only had 44,000 miles but I guess it could have had one brake maybe and got replaced. I would suspect they…[Read more]

Please ignore the Ford in the picture…. I just picked these NOS heater tubes up. They are Jetfire only. As some know, I have parts slowly coming in from Hawaii. With how the deal works for me to get the parts, every now and then I have to pay what I feel is to much for some parts. These are one of these cases where I had to pay to much. Not sure…[Read more]

Had my 4 peed car on the lift taking things apart and noticed that the drive shaft in this car is not the same as any of the others. The front section is the same as my other 4 speed front section. This back section is the smaller diameter but this one was not made with the rubber damper layer like the small diameter Cutlass one. This drive shaft…[Read more]

I know two emails were sent to Rick. I have not heard anything back. The email I have is from a long time ago so not sure it is what he still uses. I believe Jim emailed him also.

Looks like my extra NOS ball joint is a 1961 upper ball joint. Part number 5675725. Looks like I can’t help. Sorry

Looks kind of expensive to me but if that is all you can find then maybe not. I have one extra NOS screw in ball joint at home but not sure if it is a upper or lower. If it is what you need I would let it go for $80. I will look tonight and see what one it is.

I will get some pictures in a couple days. I can’t work on it tomorrow I don’t think. It is best to take the back seat out and door panels off to get them off. Some are hard to reach but you van get to the back side and squeeze them with small pliers and push them out. I was able to slide a couple of the quarter trim off and leave the clips then…[Read more]

Started removing the side trim tonight. Nearly all the clips are still good. I think there are around 6 so far that I will have to replace so far. I will wait to pull the front fender trim till after I remove the fenders.

I have no experience changing them yet but I got NOS ones from eBay. What year is your car? I believe Oldsmobile made a couple changes to them between 61-63. I also believe 63 is a half year where they used two different ones in one year.

I got the weatherstripping removed without hurting it. Also got he headliner out in good shape. As long as it cleans up good I will reuse it. The car was smoked in so it is stained really bad. I sure hope to reuse the headliner and also marked the holes that the bows come out of so I can put it back right were it was. I am glad to see the roof…[Read more]

Thanks for the information Mac. I will check them out. My trim was even all the way around and I am sure the back glass has never been out so I am assuming that I have to have the different lengths of clips.

[quote quote=14921]Eric, how did you get the glass out without cutting the gasket? Steel Rubber has the gaskets but I don’t know how good they are. Does the window trim come out with the window and gasket? Or did you remove the trim first? I would guess Ebay is the best source for the clips but you have to know what other GM car would use them t…[Read more]

We do need access to it. I don’t know anything about how forums work. I just sent Rick and email to see if he can add one.

My quest is to reuse as much as I possibly can on this car so disassembly is taking much longer than usual. I was able to get the back glass out without hurting the rubber seal and was also able to get the package tray out without hurting the foam rubber or vinyl on the front edge. I also got the insulation under the package tray out and will…[Read more]

I can’t edit the last post. The hard to see number is .306 NOT what is posted in the last post. The first post is correct but hard to see the numbers.

Here is a better drawing of the BT33-2 transmission tool that people are always looking for. I posted a rough drawing a while back and found a number was off and was missing some needed information to make one. These two pictures should get you what you need if you are going to make one.
