Well, I added several pieces to what I am getting re-chromed and decided to take them to the guy that done the chrome work on my W-30. I was happy with the quality of his work but not sure I really trust the guy. His price is much better than the other places. I usually believe in you get what you pay for but I simply can’t do $6000 for what I…[Read more]

Here is a 63 Jetfire that would take some work but looks restorable. He said he has $1800 in it and I believe that is what he would take for it. He said he has the engine and transmission but I don’t have pictures of them yet. I am guessing the turbo stuff is gone but not sure of they yet either. I can get you in touch with him if you are…[Read more]

Got my first estimate for re-chroming these 6 parts and the two bumpers. $5000 to $6000. I completely understand that chrome is a labor intensive process and quality cost money but I did not expect that for what I have. I was guessing around $3000

Pulled the back seat out and this is the 1962 version of the broadcast card. The 3147 is Jetfire, 971 is silver interior, 384 is 4 speed manual transmission and 1997 is the body number on the cowl tag. The 3-23-27-1 I am not sure what this is, I will have to spend some time and see if I can figure it out. I am not going to remove this tag. It will…[Read more]

jensenracing77 replied to the topic Sensor location for gauge? in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 6 years, 8 months ago
I think the only place you can put the sender is on the front of the intake manifold pointing forward. You will have to take out the original and leave it out to use the aftermarket one.
Our automatic car on a hot day in stop and go will get to 210. I don’t really like it but that is how that one is. My 4 speed car I can’t get to over 190 no…[Read more]

Disassembley has officially began. After a long delay, my body guy has his shop up and running again. Today I started out taking lots of close detailed pictures of all the trim and the alignment of the trim and bumpers. Also got more pictures of door, hood, fender and trunk gaps. I still have the automatic car for more reference but still want…[Read more]

Bringing this back up. I need a set as good as possible. Prefer NOS or mint used but pit free would also work.

Set of Jetfire exhaust manifolds. Took me a while to collect this set and as soon as I did I got a parts car with another set, just my luck… I don’t need two extra sets so I am letting this set go. All the threads are good but one hole has a bolt cut off. This bolt will need drilled out. $250

I am wiling to sell this display engine if anyone is interested in it. The engine is for display only. Most of the parts are not any good and is missing internal parts. The turbo has no impellers, the block has no crank and things like that. Some of the parts are good though. The air cleaner is a good one but has the nipple on the back that is…[Read more]

The 2020 Oldsmobile Nationals are in Murfreesboro Tennessee but I do not know the dates yet. I plan to be there and wanted to start this thread early to see if we could get another good turnout of Jetfire cars. We plan to take my wife’s automatic car. The 4 speed car will not likely be done by then.

I am not any good in front of a camera. I can’t believe they were able to edit it this well because I am not good and a drunk guy kept getting between me and the camera. He kept asking questions and the camera man was getting mad. It turned out better than I thought it would. The Muscle Car Review magazine should be out in the next month I…[Read more]

Thanks Jim. I just confirmed the order so we will see how it goes. I plan to put one on our automatic car just as soon as they come in. I will be sure they work right before sending any out.

Melissa wanted to thank John for saving the day. I had forgot to put a bottle of TRF in her car before we left. I just had the traditional vinegar bottle but only have one with a plastic cap, but I had forgot it bring it. John just happened to bring an NOS bottle and give to her to put in the car! He saved the day but I am still in the doghouse, lol

Here is the style Jug that Scott and I got. All the gallon jugs I have had in the past had the little handles on them. I am seriously thinking about starting to use this original fluid from the gallon jugs in my 4 speed car after I am done restoring it. Some of the alcohol has evaporated through the plastic but I could add a little to top it off.…[Read more]

While at the Homecoming show I had three different guys come up to me to tell me about a Jetfire they had stashed away. Two of the guys had pictures of their cars and the other knew enough that I suspect he was truthful. The two I saw pictures of, those guys both said they know that nobody in the Jetfire community knows about them and have been in…[Read more]
