Glad you are still going on it. Do you not have the old head bolts? I would have to look but I know I have some head bolts, just not sure if I have an entire set.

I placed a new order for air filters and not heard anything for a while. I will see where they are at with those.

They contacted me again and are saying the “beginning of September” instead of September 1st. At least I am still on the radar. Looks like I am up to 12 that are presold so only 8 left if all 12 actually go. Well, make that 6 or 7 because I am using at least one of them myself.

Done some cooking today… Cooking head bolts. I started doing Manganese Phosphate myself and redone the head bolts today. They turned out really good. I done an extra bolt from another engine also. I will do some tests on the extra bolt to see how well it holds up. Should be as good as the original coating.

I cut up an old Jetfire fender that was rusted out to use as a template on the NOS fender. The NOS fender has 4 holes at the front so I cut the junk finder so that these 4 holes would line up between the two. I only have to get the back exactly right and drill. OK, I measured some bars. I thought our 62 Jetfire had a different bar but turns out that the thickness is all the same for the 61-62 other than police. I got one from AutoZone that fits fine. 35-DL. Basically, you are looking for a group 35 battery if you go to another parts store. If it has a handle on it I would take the handle off. they hug the hood insulation really close.

I have had people ask for pictures of the clutch fork seal over the past 3 years and never could get a good picture of it in the car. Everything was covered in grease. This manual transmission inspection cover I cleaned real easy to see what if any paint was on it. There was zero paint of any kind and not even under the bolt heads. I got the front suspension and steering all apart Saturday and took another Jetfire front suspension I had apart today. I will use all the best parts from the two setups along with all my NOS steering and suspension parts.

I just got pictures of a 62 rust free Jetfire fender with the correct holes. Looks like my problem is solved!

My NOS one is 62 and has the holes punched so I would assume it got another part number for that if not for more than that also. I want to believe it will work. DVAP has a rust free 61 fender

I will call them tonight. I hear lots of bad things from there. I guess if they have a good fender I should find out for myself.

It would sure be nice to have. I was just trying to find a post yesterday and give up. Found the information elsewhere.
