I do not have the mast, this is all I have. The chrome has some pitting and the gasket is not any good. Hopefully those are still good on yours? I would take $35 shipped for it if you want it.

I am sure I have the lower part just not sure about the mast. My gasket will be bad I am sure. I will try to gather what I have tonight and see.

I have one somewhere but will have to find it. Fusick does have a reproduction of it that I hear is really good. I have not looked at one myself. I will see if I can find my extra one tonight.

The Evans waterless is something I have been interested in. Not sure I understand how it can cool better than water can but it is something I plan to look more at before I finish my 4 speed car. At least it is not as corrosive as water is. With a fresh dry system it may be a good time to do it if I am.

Any of the modern antifreeze is going to be fine but I would stick with the green (or yellow) antifreeze. I am not a fan of the DexCool but I hear that they have the early issues fixed with it. I don’t know much about it and just avoid using it.

Looks like I am headed down to get it Saturday. He sent me more pictures. It is for sure only a parts car. Major rust and many many parts missing. Thanks for the heads up, I will be sure the good parts are saved.

I know about them, I would really like to get pictures of the cowl tags if you are ever near them again.

I can sell this for less here, I have it higher in eBay to cover the eBay fees. Just let me know if you are interested in it and I can pull it from eBay.

The Jetfire is not really able to be compared to anything other than a Cutlass or f-85 of the same year. For the most part you have to fabricate any needed body panels or cut them from another car. The Jetfire is for sure a unique car and lots of fun but if it needs major restoration and missing the turbo parts you can’t pay much for it. From your…[Read more]

The 63 interior is all that is available. The seat covers and door panels will fit but has a different pattern to them.

I am not a fan of JB Weld but decided to use it for this. My test housing I put the washer on the inside with JB Weld so that if for some reason it did come loose the light would not fall out. After it was done and testing it, there is no way it is going to come off. If you use something other than JB Weld just be sure that it can withstand the…[Read more]

I made a better mold setup for this. The second set turned out fairly well. They do seal up but don’t look the best. After installed you can’t tell.

I am finely letting go of these emblems but they are not cheap. They would be only “okay” for a driver. They need restored for a show car. The chrome is really dull. There are some pits in some places also. All the mounting tabs are good. I do not have the mounting nuts. If they don’t sell I am going to make a display out of them. $150 and…[Read more]

jensenracing77 replied to the topic Jetfire V Spyder reliese dates in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 7 years ago

Old subject but wanted to add to it. I emailed my contact at the GM Heritage Center and ask him if they had a document for the date of the Spyder and if there was enough documents to back this up. Here is his reply.

“It looks like the Olds Turbo-Rocket V8 was announced on January 7, 1962 and shown publicly for the first time on April 20, 1962 at…[Read more]

Yes, I looked at the wrong line when I posted this. It is the 116209 that was consolidated to the 1958 model year and is for the 4 speed. Thanks. I did not see that one on eBay. I will likely just get it.

jensenracing77 replied to the topic Jetfire #4, parts car this time in the forum Discussion Topics – Ask the Experts 7 years ago

Another video of it running. I got it to full operating temperature and ran 2 gallons of gas through it. The thermostat must be a 160 or 165, the temp was 163 when the water started coming out the top hose. I still do not know what I will do with this engine but since it runs I may put a used non working turbo setup on it and sell it if someone…[Read more]

Pulled the top off the carburetor to fix a sticky float valve and then fired it up again. The engine runs really good. I will pull it out and hook the water hose to it and run it longer soon.

Some good news on this car. I am trying to finish some older small projects before I start digging into new ones and got this engine started up today. I only tested two cylinders but the compression was 125 psi. I will do more testing on it before I pull it out but so far so good. I assumed it was a bad engine when I bought the car. I am sure it…[Read more]
