This one was rebuilt already

Picked up 2 NOS fluid bottle brackets with the straps. The 1972 parts book is showing these as 62 only. Not sure the difference between 62 and 63? I am going to let one go and keep the other one. I paid $100 for a rusty used one a while back so I would like to get $175 and shipping for the one I let go of.

I have one that I picked up a while back. Came with a receipt that it was sent to Fusick back in 2000. It was rebuilt but I have never had it in a car to test it. I would let it go for 75% of whatever they charge for the rebuild now.

This is the cowl tag of a 4 speed 63 Jetfire. Anyone else have the 2-4? Does the 4 mean 4 speed? This is an original owner car and they tell me it was new as a 4 speed and not converted. What plant is BK?

The ones I have messed with had little bendable metal straps at the bottom. You have to bend them up first. Then pull out on the bottom just a little to clear the strap and then push UP with a good jerk. After both sides pop up then it should come right out. The limited slip rear end is actually really nice inside. I pulled the cover off and it has no wear at all on the gears and the bearings spin very nice. I started cleaning on the outside and it is mostly dried dirt on it. Most of it comes right off. There are areas that are pitted but about average of other rear ends I see.

On top of the aluminum intake or the valley pan?

If they are not pitted then just rebuild them. If only pitted in the very center and not where the cup goes you would also likely be ok to rebuild.

Very nice! I like the look of these cars with aftermarket wheels better but I am such a purist that I can’t bring myself to do it. I will have the original 15’s on my 4 speed car when I take it to Homecoming. I just can’t drive it on those because the tires are 48 years old and junk.

I am hoping for at least 10 cars at Homecoming next year.
